Orthodontic Appliances & Retainers

Fixed Active orthodontic appliances and retainers, like Rapid Palatal Expander (RPE) and Quad Helix, are cemented in your patients’ mouth.

Fixed Passive orthodontic appliances and retainers, like space maintainers and lingual wire in memosil key, are cemented without the elements that provide forces to the teeth.

Removable Active orthodontic appliances and retainers are often used during the course of limited tooth movement within the primary, mixed or permanent dentitions. Removable Active appliances can be used in upper or lower arches, typically incorporating finger springs or elastics as the active components, and including expansion plates with screws and springs.

Removable Passive orthodontic appliances are worn after orthodontic treatment, to help teeth stay in their desired position. They’re usually worn at night after fixed appliance or sequential aligner therapy has been completed.

TrioClear™ is an example of Removable Active orthodontic solutions for diastemas, mild spacing/crowding and unaesthetic crowding. With minimal visibility, clear align treatment is ideal for aesthetics and are comfortable for patients to wear. Removability allows for good oral hygiene.

• In general, TrioClear™ treatment involves between 6 and 20 different sets of aligners, but every case is different. A set of aligners has three steps, and you will need to change them every 3 to 9 days for gentle tooth movement over time.
