Intraoral Scanners

We accept digital impressions from any intraoral scanning system capable of producing 3D images in STL (Stereolithography) file format such as Carestream CS.

If you are unsure whether your scanner can produce STL files, please contact your scanner provider or manufacturer for clarification.

Scans for other scanners can be sent to SCD via DropBox*.  The general process includes the following steps.

1. Register for a DropBox* account for your surgery if you do not have one
2. Login to your DropBox account
3. Create a folder in DropBox for the case what you would like to send to SCD.  You may name the folder as your patient ID or SCD order number
4. Fill in an SCD order form and make sure it is in PDF format.  You can either generate a PDF labsheet via Online Order option in MySCD or scan a the completed hardcopy of the labsheet.
5. Upload STL digital scans and the PDF labsheet to the DropBox folder created in step 3
6. After uploading finishes, share the whole DropBox folder with nzdigital@scdlab.com

* Although we nominate DropBox for file sharing, you may choose to use other file transfer or cloud storage platforms (Google Drive, Mircrosoft OneDrive, etc.) that you find suitable.
